IF YOU EVER FIND YOURSELF THINKING...

"I'm so tired of feeling like I'm meant to be able to read journalists' minds."

→ "The media is changing all the time - it's impossible to keep up with what works ..."

→ "I'm so stressed by the pressure to deliver results on demand for my clients who don't understand how the media works..."

→"When I started in PR, I was taught the traditional way to do things - sending out as many emails as possible and hoping for the best - but now I'm running my own business and I have my own clients and getting results is harder. There must be a better way to achieve results? I can't remember the last time I actually up skilled, or took some time to learn a new way to do things that might work better?! Does something like this even exist? .."

→ "I want bigger, better and more frequent media placements to show potential clients - I just need it to be an absolute no-brainer if I'm ever going to raise my rates..."

→ "I really want journalists to respect me and to be the first person they think of when they need quotes and case studies..."

→ "It's so hard to convince people to sign retainers without guaranteed results - how do I get as close to this as possible?"

→ “I don't want to be just another PR to a journalist - I know my clients have so much to offer and I want to be able to do them justice...”

Look, we totally get it. It's knackering. The industry is so different now and is still constantly changing. There are less journalists fielding more pitches and audiences are far more discerning about what they give their attention to.

WE KNOW YOU'RE PROBABLY THINKING:

Yep! It feels like a constant uphill struggle. I just wish I could ask a journalist what they actually want and what to do without being judged.

We feel you. And this is where we come in.

What if there was a space run by a Forbes journalist and a PR who work together to create strategies that work right now and that are grounded in the fundamentals of great storytelling and therefore can be moulded for the future?

And what if you could ask that journalist those 'silly' questions in a totally safe and judgement free space?

"Omg, yes - I need this!"

WELCOME TO OUR SAFE HAVEN!

Where no question is silly, you can upskill amongst your industry peers going through the same thing and speak directly to a journalist who writes for the places you dream of placing your clients - without judgement, without the need to impress or show up with your marketing 'shine' turned on.

58% of journalists say they're actively looking for comms experts to help them find reliable sources, but 73% of them say that under 25% of the pitches they receive are actually relevant to them and their audience.*

Something needs to change.

What Clients Have to Say

I WANT THIS

"This is literally exactly what I need. So what does this look like?"

We'll virtually host you for a half day (roughly 3 hours) and take you through:

  • how media is different today from when you first started, including across digital, print, audio and visual

  • how to build relationships with journalists in a way that lasts and feels natural rather than forced

  • how to streamline your research phase

  • exactly what a journalist wants from a pitch and teach you what to say in a proactive pitch and a reactive response.

  • how to teach your clients what to do once they've got them - so that they fully understand the ROI
  • how to attract and retain clients you actually like
  • how to coach your clients through what they think they want and give them what they actually need

Plus, have time to ask questions, troubleshoot current challenges AND receive our bank of pitching templates after the class - all of which have been crafted by journalists based on what they actually want.

Without having to spend all your money, time or effort learning and without having to worry that your enquiries will be met with silence or irritation.

OOO, THIS SOUNDS AMAZING...

What're the details?

It's a 3 - 4 hour Zoom/ Teams session with short breaks and plenty of discussion. Each session is capped at a limited number of people (to ensure you get the attention you deserve) and is offered on a first come, first served basis. This is for PRs only - not business owners looking to do their own outreach (we have other products for that!) - so the skills will be taught in a way that's specific to your needs.

The Scoop is perfect for you if:

  • You're looking to upskill to better serve your clients
  • You want to modernise your outreach techniques
  • You want to train an assistant but don't have time
  • You want to build better relationships with journalists

MEET YOUR MEDIA AND MESSAGING WING WOMEN

Hi friend, Bianca here - journalist and founder of The Scoop.

As a journalist (VOGUE, Courier, The Sunday Times, Refinery29, Cosmopolitan, BBC and the Evening Standard to name a few - oh, and I'm a Senior Contributor at Forbes) I receive around 100 pitches a day (I wish this was a joke!) and less than 5% of them are at a level that I'd even consider working with.

And it's not just me. My friends in the industry have the same issues. Inboxes overcrowded with pitches that aren't hitting the mark.

The industry is changing - journalists are looking for more tailored, engaging ideas and less stuffy old press releases or mass call outs - and I'm on a mission to demystify it.

That's why I founded The Scoop  and am now offering up journalist and editors' insider secrets to PRs in a safe space so you can deliver better results for your clients and build lasting relationships within the industry.

Because I believe that we (the media and PRs) are both on the same side and it's time we started talking to each other properly.

And I'm Grace - a PR and Bianca's right hand woman!

Having started my first PR business over a decade ago, I bring my first hand experience of the ever developing world of PR, media and publicity directly to my audience.

I know that the techniques we are going to teach you in this workshop work, I’ve used them myself to land press for my clients in The Telegraph, GQ, Stylist, Marie Claire and many many more.
