What would it feel like to be the journalist whisperer? To build a reputation of being so good at delivering them exactly what they want that you have too many enquiries from potential PR clients to count

Maybe you...

  • Are tired of feeling like you're meant to be able to read journalists' minds, even though the media landscape is changing all the time...
  • Are feeling stressed by the pressure to deliver results from clients who don't understand how the media works...
  • Know you want to keep brushing up on your skills (after all, every other profession has CPD training, right?)
  • Wish you had bigger, better and more frequent media placements to show potential clients, so that it's an absolute no-brainer to work with you and you can raise your prices...

That's why it's time to shake things up. Discover The Scoop: a yearly membership where journalists and editors share exactly what they're looking for with PRs, creatives and business owners - all on a safe and purpose built education platform.

I'm talking no more trial and error and no more mystery. Just unfiltered guidance from the people making the decisions.

Without having to spend loads of your money, time or effort learning and without having to worry that your enquiries will be met with silence or irritation

As a journalist (VOGUE, CourierThe Sunday Times, Refinery29, Cosmopolitan, BBC and the Evening Standard to name a few - oh, and I'm a Senior Contributor at Forbes) I receive around 100 pitches a day (I wish this was a joke!) and only about 5% of them are at a level that I'd even consider working with

And it's not just me. My friends in the industry have the same issues. Inboxes overcrowded pitches that aren't hitting the mark.

The industry is changing - journalists are looking for more tailored, engaging ideas and less stuffy old press releases or mass call outs - and I'm on a mission to demystify it.

That's why I founded The Scoop - a yearly membership featuring journalist and editors' insider secrets so you can deliver better results for your clients and build lasting relationships within the industry.

Because I believe that we (the media and PRs) are both on the same side and it's time we started talking to each other properly.

  • A journalist database full of contacts across all main sectors, including their social handles and useful notes on their preferences, so you can cut your research time in half.
  • Short courses on media outreach from journalists' point of view, so you can brush up your skills at your own pace.
  • Results-driven pitching templates and other resources (with best-practice examples) that are ready to use immediately.

  • PLUS more to come - I'm talking live pitch clinics, community pitching hours and mindset resources, to name a few.

All of which you'll have access to immediately on enrollment.

I'm Bianca Barratt...

A journalist on a mission to demystify the media.

My purpose as a storyteller is to write about the glorious mess of being human and help people feel less alone. My job is to write stories for the media. This includes being a culture and lifestyle features writer for titles such as VOGUE, Courier, The Sunday Times, Refinery29, Cosmopolitan, BBC and the Evening Standard, as well as being a Senior Contributor to Forbes. I also advise individuals, business owners and PRs on media and messaging strategy. When I’m not doing that, I can usually be found working on my novel and screenplay or fantasising about what I’m going to eat for my next meal.
